Certified French teacher, I offer personalized online French lessons tailored to individual goals and learning paces.
CONVERSATION GYMNASTICÂ
* First 5 minutes will be spent on conversation and sentences building independently of your level. We start from "Comment ça va?" => Ca va, merci ("How are you?" => "I'm good, thank you"), "Il fait beau aujourd'hui?" ("Il fait beau aujourd'hui?") etc.Â
HOMEWORK CORRECTION AND WORKOUT
* 5 min – walk through the correction of the written homework
* 10 min – for example, cession of questions/answers on the text assigned to reading at home
GRAMMAR TOPICÂ
* 15 min for grammar new topic OR last class grammar topic refresh with exercises. We focus our class to teach you to build real-life sentences.
LISTENING COMPREHENSION
10 minutes / we listen to an audio file / exercise and work on hearing comprehension.
Generally, I make you listen one time. Then during the second listening, I do a short break between each sentence so to see together what you understand. Then we discuss the content.
READING AND WORKOUT
10 minutes/reading of the text, translation, vocal exercises on vocabulary
Wrap up : take away message, homework assignment.
After the class: I send you the class notes and the homework.
Use of verbs « devoir » and « pouvoir » in present. Here we will learn these verbs by building basic sentences in French vocally. For example, I can ask you to translate this kind of sentence into French :
a. "What do you want to do this weekend? "
Your answer: "Que veux-tu faire ce week-end ?"
b. "Can you pass me the salt, please?"
Your answer : "Pouvez-vous me passer le sel s'il vous plait ?"
c. "She does not feel well, she can not come to the cinema with you."
Your answer : "Elle ne se sent pas bien, elle ne peut pas venir au cinéma avec vous."
d. "Kids must listen to the parents."
Your answer : "Les enfants doivent écouter les parents."
e. "What music do they want to listen to?"
Your answer : "Quelle musique veulent-ils écouter ?"
f. "We must not park here."
Your answer :Â "Nous ne devons pas nous garer ici."
g. "You can bring a cake to the party if you want."
Your answer : "Vous pouvez apporter un gâteau à la fête si vous voulez."
Reading is a very powerful exercice that allows you to practice your understanding abilities, learn new words and especually it is a perfect basis for conversation. You can read a texte and then exercice yourself on answering questions or (even better) to retell what the story is about.

You can try to read this text after several first French classes. They are organised by level from A0 and upper.

Nature and Weather: Describe climates, landscapes, and seasonal changes.
Current Events: Converse about news, politics, and global issues.
Health and Wellness: Talk about symptoms, treatments, and nutrition.
Food and Travel: Explore cuisines, dining out, shopping, and traveling.
Focused Grammar Expansion (examples):
Mastering Tenses: Sharpen your use of past and future tenses to increase precision in describing past experiences and anticipating future projects. Understanding when to use Passé Composé versus Imparfait for past actions and mastering future tense forms enables clear and accurate communication about time-specific events.
Pronoun Proficiency: Employ various pronouns to streamline communication and enhance coherence in discourse. Effective use of relative pronouns (qui, que, oĂą, dont), possessive pronouns (mon, ton, son, etc.), and adverbial pronouns (en and y) helps avoid redundancy, logically link thoughts, and maintain sentence flow.
Advanced Verb Forms: Elevate language sophistication with correct verb form usage, including the subjunctive and conditional moods, to express a wide range of nuanced emotions, demonstrate politeness, and discuss hypothetical situations. This nuanced control over verb moods greatly enriches conversational French, making your interactions more refined and culturally appropriate.
